Being a woman, however, my problem was I couldn’t go to the toilet during the day time. I would have to wait till night and ask other women to accompany me to be safe.

“I am living in this region for the past 10 years. I am married and have 2 children. My husband and I are doing agricultural coolie work. With an insufficient income, we were unable to build our own toilet. My children would go to the toilet in the open area near my house, while my husband would be able to go to the toilet outside during the day time also.
Being a woman, however, my problem was I couldn’t go to the toilet during the day time. I would have to wait till night and ask other women to accompany me to be safe. Due to this, I suffered a lot physically and mentally.
It was at this time that Isha Foundation helped us build an individual toilet. I feel much more reassured and at ease now.
Thank you Isha.”
