From soil health to pest management, farmers are gaining field-tested skills through Cauvery Calling’s regular training sessions—turning learning into lasting change on the ground.

From July to September 2025, over 1500 farmers across 36 districts participated in Cauvery Calling’s monthly training sessions to learn new techniques to boost productivity and sustainability on their farms.
During these sessions, farmers explored a wide range of topics—from choosing the right tree species for their soil and best practices in tillage and planting, to sapling care and water management techniques for both dry and rainy seasons. Guidance was also provided on managing seasonal pests and diseases through natural methods, ensuring healthier and more resilient tree growth.
Farmer participants have communicated that by learning various technologies through the training sessions, they were becoming experts in tree-based agriculture. They have requested Cauvery Calling to hold the sessions more frequently.
To further support farmers, Cauvery Calling also provides timber tree saplings at a subsidized rate of just ₹5 through the Cauvery Calling nursery. With the arrival of the monsoons, a large stock of saplings has been prepared to meet demand. In addition, farmers receive free, on-site advisory support, with field visits from Cauvery Calling staff to help identify the most suitable tree species for their land.
With Cauvery Calling’s multi-pronged support, farmers are translating their knowledge into real-time results for their land and livelihoods.
