An Indian Army Colonel, an entrepreneur, an illustrator, a dermatological surgeon, a counselor, and a YouTuber interacted with them in our online Get Mentored sessions, and every session was well-received.

Learning about the Indian Army

During an online Get Mentored session, Colonel Rajesh Singh shared his journey of joining the Indian Army and training to become a soldier with students from classes 9-12. He discussed his experiences serving in the 12 Rajputana Rifles and the challenges he faced as part of the UN Peacekeeping Force in Sudan.

The session inspired Sakthi from Isha Vidhya Tuticorin. He expressed that he has learned to combat his fears, speak boldly, and earnestly wishes to join the Army to protect the nation.

An Inspirational Mentor

At an online Get Mentored session, Senthil Kumar, entrepreneur, publisher, and quiz master, discussed the ten golden morals of life and urged the students to follow them to fulfill their goals. He also shared the challenges he overcame, but his jovial manner lightened the profound session and inspired both students and teachers.

Anusara, a Class 12 student of Isha Vidhya Nagercoil, says the mentor’s advice to remain curious, read books, be socially responsible, and have a Plan B in career goals to ensure success has inspired and stimulated her.

Words of Art

Poornambika, an illustrator, spoke to students about specialized programs like graphic design, communication design, and fashion design at an online Get Mentored session. She also shared the admission process and prospects for these programs. Her genial manner kept the students engaged, and they drew inspiration from her journey in art.

Listening to the mentor share her passion for her work and doing what she loves inspired Sathana, a Class 11 student of Isha Vidhya Cuddalore. Sathana says it has given her the confidence to pursue her own goals.

Skin Senses

At an online Get Mentored session, Dr. Balaji, a dermatological surgeon, spoke about the various courses in dermatology, the importance of healthy skin for overall wellbeing, and how to keep skin healthy. He said Yoga benefits skin and urged the mentees to practice it regularly.

Vedhasruthi of Isha Vidhya Erode says the mentor clarified her confusion about how to crack NEET—the pre-medical entrance exams—and she is now inspired to pursue dermatology.

Mental Health Lessons

G. Gayathri, a counselor, life-skills trainer, and entrepreneur, talked about mental health and career options in psychology at an online Get Mentored session. The clarity in her narrative about dealing with fear and stress, with anecdotes from her professional journey, kept both students and teachers inspired and involved.

Kalaipriyan, a Class 11 student of Isha Vidhya Erode, says the session opened doors to self-awareness, the importance of mental health, and pursuing psychology professionally.

Learning to Make Videos

At an online Get Mentored session, Vivek Paramasivam, a YouTuber, guided students on cinematography, scripting, and editing to create videos for YouTube. He shared tips on gathering data to generate history-related videos and warned about the dangers of social media addiction and how algorithms influence browsing.

Besides learning about the limitless possibilities in the visual media, Diya, a Class 12 student of Isha Vidhya Salem, found co-anchoring the event a boost to her confidence and communicativeness.
