“Before this program started in our school, we spent time by playing games and chatting until left to our homes at 5 in the evening. When they told us that we will grow sapling in our school, we were very excited. Dhanasekaran Sir, our NGC teacher helped us in understanding the various activities involved in nursery creation. We filled covers with soil, sowed seeds in them, watered them in regular intervals, weeded them and maintained them. When the sapling sprouted from the seed, the first day, I will always remember it. I felt so happy. Between ourselves, we formed a team to divide the work and maintain the saplings. All of us have planted one sapling each in the school and we distributed the remaining saplings to the other children and in the shops nearby. We are very much eager to start the activity in the next year and want to plant more trees”
