Over the past 16 years, Save Soil – Thaaimann Kaakkum Vivasaayam (SS-TKV) has achieved several significant milestones:
- Model farms spanning 42 acres cultivate major crops like paddy, sugarcane, banana, jowar, sorghum, and vegetables using 100% regenerative agriculture techniques.
- More than 24,000 farmers have been trained through over 250 programs in the last nine years.
- Over 38,000 farmers have been connected via 225 WhatsApp groups.
- Approximately one-third of the farmers trained have fully transitioned to regenerative agriculture.
- Over 21,000 inquiries have been addressed through helplines.
- More than 1,720 farm visits conducted for data collection and support.
- Around 250 lead farmers have emerged as champions of regenerative agriculture across the state.
- The YouTube channel features over 234,000 subscribers and 21 million views, hosting more than 255 technical videos.
- Continuous guidance is provided by experts such as Dr. Punniyamurthy, Alangudi Perumal, Nagarathinam Naidu, and Poochi N. Selvam.
- The initiative is supported by Tamil Nadu’s regenerative agriculture pioneers, Late Nammalvar Ayya and Padma Shri Subhash Palekar.
- In 2017, the Rajasthan State Government invited the initiative to discuss regenerative agriculture implementation in the state.
- Engagement with the Indian Ministry of Agriculture for stakeholder consultations on regenerative agriculture has resulted in MoUs with the National Centre for Organic and Regenerative Agriculture and the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management.
- SS-TKV's work was highlighted to a worldwide audience at the Save Soil Pavilion during COP28 in Dubai.
